During this boat tour, our guide will inform you about the Sunken City of Kekova and the city ruins on the coast.
We take a swimming break in a bay near Kekova Island. Here you will be able to experience the wonderful feeling of swimming in the clear waters of Kekova above the ruins of the ancient city. Kekova Boat Trip And The Ancient City Of Simena

Demre Myra Kekova Tour
The peaceful Lycian Union was the first civilization that adopted democracy as a form of government. This civilization was a union of 23 cities located on the coastline of Anatolia, such as Olympos, Myra, Phaselis, and Simena. Simena means "Mother Goddess" in Luwian language and the history of Simena dates back to the 4th century BC. It was a coastal city in the union and as a result of some earthquakes that occurred in the region in the 2nd century AD, a part of the city sank into the sea and the inhabitants abandoned the city. Over time, a small settlement named Kaleköy was founded on the ruins of the ancient city. During the Kekova Boat Tour, you will see Simena city ruins, Kaleköy, and Simena Castle from the Middle Ages. You will be amazed by the spectacular views you will see around you throughout the tour. Moreover, you will have the privilege of swimming over the ancient ruins of the sunken city of Kekova.

Church Of St. Nicholas

Demre Myra Kekova Tour
St. Nicholas or Nikolaos of Myra was born in Patara in 300 BC to a wealthy family. He lived in Myra and was the archbishop of the city. He spent all his wealth on the poor. It is believed that he performed many miracles during his life. Santa Claus is well known as the protector of children, students, travellers, sailors, and the poor. When he passed away, a church was built in his name in Myra, and his tomb was placed in this church. Now open to the public as a memorial museum, the church has been an important place of pilgrimage for Christians. The building, which also draws attention with its architecture, includes the tomb of Santa Claus, frescoes, icons, and mosaics. At the entrance of the building, visitors are greeted by a statue of Santa Claus, gifted from Russia.

Me and my wife had a great time in this tour. Our guide and the driver welcomed us warmly in the early morning. Our guide Mehmet was especially very knowledgeable. He had us smiling along the tour while giving lots of info about the historic sites along the way. The boat tour above the sunken city was unique, we had an half hour swimming there which was exhilarating. Ancient city of Myra, Roman amphitheater and the views on site were amazing. Overall it was a well organised excursion and we enjoyed it very much. Thanks a lot Excursion Side for this nice organisaton and our tour guide and staff.
