Side Köprülü Canyon Rafting Tour Program & Details

The Köprüçay River is one of the best places for rafting in Turkey, with exciting rapids suitable for beginners and adventure lovers alike. You don’t need any previous experience. Even if you can’t swim, no worries at all—you can still join safely. Our instructors will guide you at all times, and all safety equipment is provided.

We pick you up from the security gates of your hotel with comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles and drive to the rafting centre in Köprülü Canyon. The journey takes around one hour. When you arrive, you will receive your safety equipment (helmet and life jacket), which must be worn throughout the tour. Our professional instructors will then give you a clear and easy-to-follow briefing about the adventure ahead.

Guests are grouped by language, and each raft is guided by an experienced instructor. Before the main rafting begins, you will enter the water for a short “body rafting” session. This helps you get used to the refreshing river and prepares you for the fun ahead. Then the real adventure starts! You will begin paddling together, feel the power of the river, and quickly build confidence as you enjoy this exciting team experience.

The total rafting distance is around 14 km. After about 40 minutes, there is a break by the river where you can relax, sunbathe, or swim. If you feel adventurous, you can also try fun activities like jumping into the river from diving spots along the canyon.

After the break, the rafting continues until you reach our riverside restaurant, where you will enjoy a tasty lunch. The menu includes BBQ chicken, rice, pasta, and fresh salad. Once you are refreshed, the adventure continues for the final part of the route. After approximately 20 more minutes of rafting, you will reach the finish point.

At the end of the tour, you can watch photos and videos taken during the experience. The tour finishes around 16:00, and you will be comfortably transferred back to your hotel.

Who Can Join the Side Rafting Tour?

The Side Rafting Tour is done in groups of 8–10 people, with a professional instructor guiding each raft. Before the tour starts, you will receive all the necessary information and a short training session to prepare you for the experience. Your safety is our top priority. All guests must wear helmets and life jackets throughout the tour, and our experienced team carefully follows all safety procedures. Children are safely seated in the middle of the rafts. The Köprüçay River has a rafting difficulty level of 2+, while the most challenging rivers can reach level 6+. This makes it a safe and enjoyable experience, especially for beginners and families. However, this activity is not suitable for pregnant women or guests with serious physical conditions.

Things to Know About the Side Rafting Tour

You can safely leave your belongings on the bus which will remain locked during the tour. For the activity, we recommend wearing sneakers or water-friendly shoes. If you don’t have suitable footwear, you can easily purchase rafting shoes at the centre. Wetsuits are also available for hire if needed. Smokers can leave their cigarettes in a designated box and use them during the breaks. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit, a towel, extra clothes, and sun cream for your comfort. We recommend not bringing electronic devices or valuable jewellery during the tour. Photos and videos are taken throughout the experience, and you can view them at the end of the tour. If you like, you can purchase your favourite moments at reasonable prices.

    Amazing experience and great value for money. We were picked up on time from the hotel as expected. No hassle and agent was easy to reach for any information you may require. Our tour guide i think his name was Dennis was excellent and very friendly. We felt safe all the way. Its a must do trip! Views are ridiculous beautiful. I will strongly advise the team to record some of the views as we did not have phone with us so we couldn’t take any pictures or do any recording.

    Maybe they should incorporate some of the views in the video which I believe many people would love to have . This will also generate more interest in buying the video(USB). I have to say had an issue with my USB as I couldn’t download it or my laptop was unable to read it for whatever reasons. However after contacting the agent it was resolved in 24 hours. Even though I was back home by then they still text me to ask if I managed to download the link or not. Which was a success. Overall the whole experience was excellent with genuine and professional individuals .

The guides were great fun as well. The river and surrounding scenery were beautiful. The lunch was ok. We had lots of laughs even getting pushed in the cold river was fun. Highly recommended.
