Side Pamukkale Balloon Tour is an alternative tour for our guests who want to experience a hot air balloon tour over Pamukkale. After the balloon ride, the tour program is similar to our Pamukkale tour. If you want to join our regular Pamukkale tour, you can check our Side Pamukkale Day Trip webpage.
You can join this tour from any accommodation on the Turkish Riviera between Antalya and Alanya. The distance from Pamukkale to Side is around 300 km. Pick-up time from the Side region hotels is around 01.00 for this trip. Please inform us if you will join the tour outside the Side region.
Side Pamukkale Balloon Tour Program:
Our adventure starts when we pick you up directly from your hotel’s security gate. You’ll travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach for about 4 hours, with short breaks along the way for your comfort. During the journey, a friendly tour guide who speaks English and German will inform you about Pamukkale and Turkey’s rich culture. At the end of this journey, we will reach the balloon take-off point in Pamukkale.

While the staff at the take-off point prepare the balloons, you can take Instagram-worthy photos of the beautiful views. After a brief information from the staff, you will board the balloon basket and the most exciting tour over Pamukkale will begin. Surely it will be an extraordinary experience to see the travertine terraces and the monuments of past civilisations from hundreds of meters high through the balloon basket. The balloon ride takes around one hour. After the ride, a celebration will be held with champagne and flight participation certificates will be delivered.

Our guides will take you to the entrance of Pamukkale after the balloon ride. Now, it’s time to explore the travertine terraces of Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis, which you recently saw from the air. You will have about four hours of free time in Anatolia’s most famous natural miracle. You can walk on the travertine terraces, explore the ancient roads or monuments in Hierapolis ancient city, or even swim in Cleopatra’s pool, just like the ancient Egyptian royalty once did.

At around 1:00 PM, we’ll head to a restaurant near Pamukkale for a tasty lunch. It’ll be an open buffet, offering a wide selection of dishes cooked from fresh ingredients.
Around 2:00 PM, we’ll start our journey back to the Side area. By approximately 7:00 PM, we’ll have dropped off all our guests at their hotels, concluding this adventure and exploration-packed excursion.

An Exciting Hot Air Balloon Tour over Pamukkale

After you arrive in Pamukkale, our guides will take you to the Pamukkale hot air balloon take-off point. At this point, you will watch the staff preparing the balloon and you can take lots of photos. You must bring your passports with you to participate in the balloon tour. You will complete the necessary paperwork for the balloon ride before take-off. For that reason, please do not forget to bring your passport with you. Balloon baskets are for 16 people. Once everyone is on the balloon and a brief explanation from the staff about the adventure ahead, this most exciting activity of the trip begins. Seeing all the beautiful views that Pamukkale has to offer from a balloon basket will be a privileged experience you can have during your holiday. Moreover, the flight will be made at sunrise. You will see Pamukkale and its natural beauties through the harmonious lights of the sunrise. The hot air balloon flight starts around 06:00 and lasts about an hour. After landing, a celebration is held on-site with champagne. Additionally, the staff delivers flight certificates to the participants. After that, the guides will take you to the entrance of Pamukkale. Please note that the balloon tour may not be possible due to unsuitable weather or wind conditions. In case the balloon tour is not available, you will receive a refund of the balloon tour participation fee of 80 Euros if you have already paid it. The minimum age to participate in the balloon tour is 6 years old. Children under this age can not participate in this excursion.

The Cleopatra's Pool also referred to as the Ancient Pool of Pamukkale, is a globally renowned thermal pool nestled within Pamukkale. Maintaining a constant temperature of 36 degrees Celsius year-round, the thermal water in this pool has been scientifically shown to offer therapeutic benefits for various ailments. Rumour has it that the Egyptian queen Cleopatra often came to this pool and took her bath there. There are ancient ruins at the bottom of the pool and the pool is surrounded by green vegetation. The ancient pool is visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors throughout the year. On this tour, you will have the chance to swim in this pool just like the ancient Romans did thousands of years ago.

The tour guides will give information about the tour program to you in English and German. They will give information about Pamukkale and the history of the region as well. Moreover, they will accompany you to the balloon take-off point and Pamukkale. You will explore the attractions on your own in your free time in Pamukkale. The tour price covers hotel pick-up and drop-off, transportation to Pamukkale in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach, guided tour services, and lunch. However, it does not include entrance fees to Pamukkale and Hierapolis, the Cleopatra Pool entrance fee, food and drinks, or personal expenses. You are welcome to bring a breakfast package to the bus. Since the hot air balloon ride is in the flight category, you will fill out the necessary documents in Pamukkale. Therefore, you need to bring your passport with you on the trip. Our tour operator will ask for a picture of your passport before the tour to reserve your seat for the flight. Please be aware that this tour is not recommended for children under 6 years old. Children up to 8 years old are exempt from paying the Pamukkale and Hierapolis entrance fees. Additionally, there will be a brief stop at a production centre for promotional purposes during the excursion.
