Side Cappadocia Trip Program:
Day 1
Side Cappadocia 2-Day Trip starts with picking you up from your hotel by our air-conditioned bus. After approximately 3 hours of travel, we have a breakfast break in Seydişehir town. We continue our journey towards the Cappadocia region after breakfast and arrive in Cappadocia at noon. The first stop of the trip will be at Tatlarin Underground City. This early Byzantine underground city will fascinate you with its tunnels and living spaces such as kitchens, stables, warehouses, chapels and living quarters. You will also have the chance to visit the Tatlarin monastery, which is one of the first churches of Christianity in Anatolia, right next to the city.
We stop for lunch in the town of Avanos around 14:00 after the underground city visit. After lunch, we give breaks at Valley of Imagination and Valley of the Monks. You will feel like you are in a fairy tale in these valleys full of fairy chimneys (soft volcanic rocks in the shape of cones or towers) and magnificent natural beauties. Then, we visit the old Greek village of Cavushin and the Church of St. John the Baptist. The history of this village, which consists of settlements carved into the rocks, dates back to the 1st century BC. One of the first major churches of Christianity, The Church of St. John the Baptist is here. The church will impress you with both its appearance and story.
After short photo stops at Love Valley and Göreme Village, you will check in the hotel in Ürgüp district around 18.30. Your delicious open buffet dinner will be ready at the hotel restaurant at 19:00. After dinner, you can relax in your clean, comfortable room at this beautiful hotel or explore the Ürgüp district. Alternatively, you may want to attend the famous Turkish Night Show at a nearby restaurant, featuring a variety of traditional Turkish folk dances, folk music and oriental dance performances.
Day2
The second day starts at 04.30 for guests who want to participate in the hot air balloon tour or who want to see the balloon tour event on-site. Our tour guide transfers our guests to the balloon take-off area by bus. Guests attending or watching the event return to the hotel around 06:30. An open buffet breakfast will be ready at the hotel restaurant at 07:00.
We leave the hotel after breakfast and continue our Cappadocia tour. After a photo break at Three Graces spot, one of the landmarks of Cappadocia, we give another short photo break in Pigeon Valley. Our next stop is Dervent Valley. The largest fairy chimneys are in this region. Churches, dining halls, warehouses and rooms carved into the rocks are impressive. Then, we give the last break of the excursion at Üçhisar Castle. This place, which was used as a defence fortress in the past, consists of two gigantic fairy chimneys side by side. When you reach the top of the castle, an exquisite view of Cappadocia greets you.
After this break, we leave the Cappadocia region. On the way to Side there will be a short break at Öresin Han, which was a caravanserai during the Seljuk period. Then, we will arrive in Konya and stop for lunch. After lunch, we continue our journey towards Side. At the end of the tour, we drop off all our guests at their hotels around 20.30.

Beautiful Cappadocia
Cappadocia means "land of beautiful horses" in Persian. It is mainly located in Nevşehir province in Central Anatolia. Mountains such as Erciyes, Hasan Dağı, and Göllüdağ were active volcanoes ten million years ago, and their eruptions caused the region to be filled with lava and volcanic ash. After these volcanic mountains became extinct over time, erosion, rivers, and wind created this spectacular terrain. There are now innumerable cones and towers of soft volcanic rocks (fairy chimneys) in the region. As the region has a rugged terrain, it provided a natural shelter for the early Christians seeking a place away from Roman oppression. They built not only underground cities but also houses and churches into the fairy chimneys in the region.
After the conversion of the Roman Empire to Christianity, Cappadocia became an area for monastic life for faithful Christians until the Middle Ages. On this tour, you will see spectacular landscapes and structures that those early Christians built thousands of years ago.
Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Ride
The Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Tour is one of the most popular activities for visitors to this region. The balloon ride is held early in the morning on the second day of the excursion. Viewing the magnificent places you saw during the
Side Cappadocia Tour and watching the sunrise over Cappadocia in a balloon basket will be one of the most exciting moments of your holiday. The visual feast in the sky with dozens of balloons taking off at the same time and the feeling of floating just two or three meters above the fairy chimneys is incredible.
Before the tour, participants have a light breakfast on site. The Cappadocia hot air balloon tour lasts for one hour. At the end of the tour, the participants are given a certificate for their participation and a celebration is held with champagne. It can be cool in the mornings in Cappadocia, so it is recommended to take warm clothes with you for the balloon ride.
Weather and wind conditions must be favourable for the balloon ride. Balloon tours are carried out with permission given by the Civil Aviation Directorate. Suitability of the tour can be checked from

Alternatively, instead of participating in the ride, you can choose to watch the balloons take off and the entire event on-site. In this case, our guides will transfer you to the take-off point and you can take many Instagramic photos of the event. After the event, our guides will bring you back to the hotel with the other guests who joined the tour. This service, including the transfers and a light breakfast on-site costs a mere 30 euros per person.

My niece and nephew and I had a great time on our tour. It is nice to relax on your bus and leave the driving to your excellent driver. We could just enjoy the scenery or get some sleep. There is too much to see in a two-day tour of Cappadocia, so it is nice to have a well-planned tour and an excellent tour guide. Our guide spoke Turkish, English, German, and Russian, and had an outstanding knowledge of Cappadocia and the sites we visited. It is a wonderful history lesson in a most unusual and interesting part of Turkey, and the world. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour!
